How To Install Open Office 4.0 On Ubuntu 13.04 / 12.10 /12.04 & Linux Mint



Open Office 4.0 Released on 23rd July 2013

In This Tutorial I Will tell You how to Install Open Office 4 on Ubuntu 13.04 / 12.10 / 12.04 & Linux Mint

Installation of  Open Office

Step 1: Download The Package From the Official Website or from the Sourceforge
                                  Official Website Click here

Step 2: Login as root user


Step 3: Extract the tar file

             #tar xvfz Apache_OpenOffice_4.0.0_Linux_x86_install-deb_en-US.tar



Step 4: Install the deb files
Go inside the DEBS folder and give install the files
           
             #dpkg -i *.deb



Step 5: Install the desktop shortcuts
Go inside the desktop integration folder and install the deb file

              #dpkg -i *.deb




Step 6:Verify installed fully or not
Type in dash open office...


Open  office successfully installed........




Enjoy the new release

Uninstalling  Open Office 4

For uninstalltion of open office 4 give the following command in the terminal

           #apt-get remove --purge openoffice
          #apt-get autoremove
          #apt-get clean
