How To Install / Remove Wine 1.7.11 On Ubuntu / Debian & LinuxMint


In this Tutorial I will tell you how to install wine 1.7.11 on ubuntu 13.10/ 13.04 / 12.10 / 12.04 & Linuxmint

Wine is a open source software used to run windows applications in Linux.Wine supports on Linux,Free BSD,Solaris for running windows applications.

Two ways to install wine in Ubuntu

Method 1

Install via Ubuntu software center and type wine and install it

Method 2

Open Terminal and type the following lines
sudo add-apt repository ppa:ubuntu-wine/ppasudo apt-get updatesudo apt-get install wine 1.7sudo apt-get install wine winetricks
Thats it wine installed..and you can open any windows program by right click and open the *.exe with wine windows program loader..........

REMOVING WINE

For removing the wine software completely run the following command in terminal


sudo apt-get --purge remove winesudo apt-get auto remove

  2. Heres a challenge, LinuxMint17, the older work-around for install of netflix does not work or at least on my xps nvidia and I have tried a lot, any ideas?
