GIMP Released the 2.8.8 Version on 03-11-2013.This release is a stable version 

In this Tutorial I will Tell You how to Install Gimp  2.8.8 on ubuntu and LinuxMint systems also

Installation Procedure

Step 1: Login as root user

Step 2:Add the PPA 

#add-apt-repository ppa:otto-kesselgulasch/gimp
#apt-get update
#apt-get install gimp

Uninstallation of Gimp

For Uninstallation of gimp run the following command on terminal

#apt-get remove gimp
